President's Message

I would like to take this opportunity to thank each of you for allowing me to become President of your Rotary Club. It is an honour which I will attempt to live up to. Working together we can continue to provide for the needs of our community, locally and internationally and to our members.

It is appropriate to thank those Rotarians who made 1998/99 a successful year. To each of you who willingly gave of your time to make our fund raising projects and community service work a success - congratulations and thank you for remembering our motto of "Service Above Self".

Special thanks are extended to our newest past president, Moe, for his tireless and dedicated service to Rotary. In leading thevship Moe has been supported by many and thanks are extended to Richard Veinot and Ron Profit who are leaving the Board after years of service. To Bob Sear and John Broderick who are joining the board, welcome, and I look forward to working with you along with the returning Board members.

Each Rotary year brings new challenges and opportunities, as part of this Rotary club and in our relationship with the District and Rotary International. We are a large Club with diverse interests, abilities and personal goals for Rotary. We can only encourage you to become as actively involved as possible. Regardless of how long you have been a member your ideas suggestions and questions are welcome. I truly hope you will feel free to bring them forward, to myself, fellow board members, at committee meetings, or club assemblies. In addition, I hope you will all take the opportunities open to you to go that extra step and get more involved, or perhaps re-involved, in Rotary.
